About Rotary
Derby Daybreak is one of over 1,800 Rotary clubs based in Great Britain and Ireland which in itself is part of a worlwide membership of over 1.3 million people. Rotary was the world's first service organisation where still today members join because they believe in 'Service Above Self'.
So although our club has a small but active membership we are part of a global organisation that can, and does, change lives for the better. One of the campaigns that Rotary has pioneered for the last 10 years is the eradication of polio worldwide. Each club through it's members makes a contribution that aims to raise $200 million over the next three years and in addition to the $355 million donated by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will be used in the fight against the polio virus and aims to certify its eradication by 2013.
